Stephen Sobisky and John Rhys-Davies

John Rhys-Davies, Gimli from Lord of the Rings, hand wrote a note to Starlight producer, Stephen Sobisky which read, “RE: Starlight, I love the project. If you have room for me, count  me in!”

Sobisky had recently worked with Rhys-Davies on a live-action feature film called Starbright. The two had become friends and as Sobisky shared with Rhys-Davies the story and project for Starlight, Rhys-Davies instantly fell in love with the project. Along with his work in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Rhys-Davies has been in many iconic films in the history of Hollywood including Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and One Night with the King. He has also voiced many roles for animated films such as Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Cats Don’t Dance, Sinbad: Beyond the Veil of Mists, Shark Bait, The Legend of Sasquatch, Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes and others.

John Rhys-Davies is welcomed to the voice cast of Starlight and will be extended the role of the voice of God. Starlight is an angel and the feature film is about difficult decisions she must make as her brother leads a war in Heaven. One thing Starlight learns in her journey is that God is loving and she can count on him.
